Westcourt Farmhouse

Until the 1970s, three farms tilled the lands around Westcourt: Bowden to the north, Harepath to the south and Westcourt in the centre. Following the financial troubles of the Ailesbury estate in 1950, all 3 passed into the ownership of Crown Estates in 1951. At that time Westcourt was being farmed by the Greens but when they gave up the tenancy the lands were divided between the other two farms and the farmhouse sold off. This fine structure, currently owned by Mr. & Mrs. McQuitty, once boasted a malthouse which was situated as an extension on the left of the view below.
