Stibb Green
Arguably the most photogenic part of the village, Stibb Green (or Steep Green) is located at the northern end of the village's long High Street. This view, by Frith in 1907, shows some intersting features which have now gone such as the fence, the footpath and the tree. The thatched building is Stibb Farm which burned down in the 1960s and was rebuilt with a tiled roof. The cart on the left is standing outside the (Three) Horse Shoes pub. It could have been there for many reasons but the most likely are: the driver is having a drink or the horse is visiting the blacksmiths which was based in what is now the pub's toilet block. Who are the children?
