Eastcourt - Old Vicarage

The Old Vicarage

The Old Vicarage was built July 1854 near the site of a much older, but very dilapidated building. By the 1960s its size, cost of upkeep and lack of efficient heating made it an "undesirable residence" so a modern replacement was built in the adjacent garden. The new vicar (who had raised the above objections) took residence in 1967 and this fine old building lay empty and unsold for several years. It was eventually bought by the late David Robb (of Marlborough Tiles) who did much renovation. He eventually moved to Durley, selling it to its current owners who have continued the task of maintaining its current high state of repair.
