Easton Clump

Easton Clump

A sight immediately recognisable to Burbage residents old and new. The clump on neighbouring Easton Hill was planted in 1763 by the Earl of Ailesbury as part of his planned beautification of his estate. It is one of many which are dotted around our skyline. Sited on top of ancient earthworks, the beeches were heavily damaged during gales in about 1987 but are slowly recovering and remain an impressive landmark
