Non-resident in Burbage he lived and died at Hurstbourne where there is a significant tombstone to him and his wife, Ann, in the churchyard and memorials to their children in the Chancel. He left a turnpike bond of £25 the interest from which to be applied by succeeding Vicars in purchasing Religious books and tracts. This is the Chitton Pond Turnpike Trust and brings 19/- annually which was re-invested after the dissolution of the Turnpike Trust with augmentation of £35 in Consols (a total of £60) by Rev. T.L. Kimgsbury, AD 1886. A poster describing his bequest hangs in St. Peter's Church, Hurstbourne Tarrant. | |
