The Last Will & Testament of John Jackman

Written 6th March 1819

John Jackman lived in East Grafton

  • To his son George Jackman of East Grafton, Shoemaker, the three cottages or tenements with gardens in East Grafton. And the will dictates to him and his heirs that "my said son George Jackman shall suffer my Grand Daughter Christiana Jackman to reside with him in a quiet and peaceable manner, so long as she remains unmarried."
  • To his Grand Daughter Christiana Jackson, the bed, bedstead and furniture "which I sleep on, the counterpane which was her mother's , and all womans wearing apparel in my possession locked up in the two boxes, the Corner Cupboard and a Spanish Oak Tea Table, two brass pots and a kettle."
  • To Charlotte Ford of Collingbourne, £2/10/0d
  • To Mary King, wife of Thomas King, £2/10/0d
  • To Abel Roffe of Ham, £5
  • All other possessions etc to his son George Jackman
  • The sole executor was his son George, witnesses; Joshua Stockbridge, Maria Jackman, Abel Jackman

Probate 1st December 1820
  • In Burbage on the executor swore before the curate Henry Wilson that the value of the deceased's goods, chattels and credits was less that £20.
